M2 Cockatoo

Well we got together and we discussed it
and I have to say we are disgusted
someone said "@#&*!" and i agree
I thought this was a free country

I'm an M2 cockatoo, I got nowhere left to go
somebody put a motorway through the place that i call home
I'm sure there was no offence intended
there's no way you could have known
but next time you wanna build a road
why don't you stick it someplace you own?

Take yer cars and yer smelly trucks
and yer ugly power poles
and in future if people must pass through
please don't charge a toll
I can't bear to watch such a shameful act
there's a name for that you see
It's nothing but a legal form of highway robbery
I'm an M2 cockatoo with a little bone to pick
I'm living above an expressway and the fumes make me feel sick...

Why don't you try sleeping at night with
a semi trailer under your bed?
And the bright flashing lights in your eyes
it's enough to wake the dead
yes it's gone on quite long enough
too long it seems to me
I'm sure you won't mind cleaning your mess
and replanting all the trees.

I'm an M2 cockatoo, there's a little campaign i'm starting
by now you should have received a letter
from my right wing conservative party.

It goes:-

'Dear Sir/Madam
we flocked together to discuss the situation last week over lunch. You're hereby required to remove the offending road within one month.
You've got 28 days to comply (letter dated 1st Feb)
Should you have any enquiries please phone 13 13 10.

Welcome to M2 Cockatoo(TM)Group incorporated
All of our operators are currently busy
but please don't get frustrated
Because it won't be long until one of our team
can talk to you
your call is important to us
that's why you've been placed in a queue

Please hold the line, it shouldn't be too long now...

I'm an M2 cockatoo, I got nowhere left to go
Somebody put a motorway through the place that I call home
So next time when you take the M2, won't you spare
A thought for me?
You just drove through my livingroom
and they charged you $4.40
